Joint Base Sam Houston
Fort Sam Houston is a US Army installation located in San Antonio, Texas. Per 2005 BRAC law, Fort Sam Houston is slated to become the Department of Defense’s premier medical training base and home of Army Installation Management. BRAC law also consolidated installation management of Fort Sam Houston and Randolph Air Force base under the direction of nearby Lackland Air Force Base. The three installations will be collectively referred to as Joint Base San Antonio. Fort Sam Houston will gain approximately 4,400 positions because of BRAC.
