Andrea was the Base Realignment and Closure Project Coordinator for Arlington County.
As such, she oversaw the County’s plan of 34 recommendations covering eight topical areas, including workforce and business assistance, infrastructure development, business and tenant incentives, and planning and development policies; all focused on the long term sustainability of Arlington’s economic base. Andrea has presented at local, regional, and national meetings and conferences on Arlington’s response to the BRAC mandate, emphasizing the workforce, business, and redevelopment activities, and publishes a monthly newsletter tracking the progress of BRAC actions affecting Arlington and the region.
Andrea began her educational career by earning a Bachelor’s degree in Public Affairs from Indiana University, her Master’s degree in Urban Studies from Long Island University, and her PhD in Public Policy from George Mason University. She has worked in urban education, community based organizations, social service organizations, and local government. Andrea also has worked as a consultant for DC government, Fannie Mae Foundation, the International Economic Development Council, and LISC.
